The 14 x 18 string pattern marks out some of the early Prince sticks from the 1980s. Found this one in one of my regular second hand store locations and after 'hmmming' and 'haahing' finally decided to get it...why the doubts? Well, the frame is in good condition but there are a few spots where the paint has come off, the bumper guard is a bit worn and the original leather handle is not mint. But otherwise it is totally fine and finding the case was a bonus too! Don't have too much info on this one so if anyone reading this can help out and comment that would be great. But it is hefty and will no doubt offer great plough through on forehands and backhands. It just has that look about it that says, 'collect me.' So I did!
update: from what I have found online the Prince Graphite Comp series 90 dates from 1984 or 85 - featuring bumper guard and green case (see photo). Prince produced an earlier version of the racket under the name of Prince Graphite Compositie which came out in around 1983. The one pictured above - the graphite comp - comes from the period when there were three series of racquets: 90, 110 and 125. That's all for now.
Found one as well. What a machine! Yup, sure is on the heavy side but solid like nothing I've felt before and smacks the fur right off a ball!
